EIP-1014 enabled contracts at deterministically derived addresses
EIP-1014 introduced CREATE2, allowing a contract address to be computed from a deployer, salt and init-code hash before deployment.
Predictable addresses support counterfactual contract designs and can simplify some wallet and application workflows.
The change expanded the design space for smart accounts and deployment factories.
A predicted address is not proof that code has already been deployed there; applications must verify code and initialization assumptions.
