PayPal USD brought a major payments brand into dollar tokens
PayPal announced PYUSD in 2023 as a dollar-denominated stablecoin issued through Paxos and made available within its payment ecosystem.
The move connected a familiar consumer payments brand with token settlement on public blockchain infrastructure.
It showed that stablecoin adoption could be pursued through established brands as well as crypto-native issuers.
