Audit reports became more visible as DeFi adoption grew
Audits can identify classes of implementation risk, but they are point-in-time reviews of a defined code version and scope.
A protocol can change after an audit, depend on unaudited components or face economic attacks outside a code-review boundary.
The DeFi boom made audit badges familiar, sometimes creating more confidence than the underlying scope supports.
Readers should inspect audit dates, commits, unresolved findings and admin powers rather than treating “audited” as a guarantee.
